HYPEROBJECT I 2017, Frank Raes

30 x 40 cm
teak, iron.

The work shows how  a 2-dimensional plane makes a section through a 3-dimensional cube.

In geometry, hyperobjects are objects in multi- (i.e. larger than 3) dimensional space. The section of a 3-dimensional volume through a 4-dimensional hypercube  would be a volume.
