Museum of Anthropocene Technology

The Museum’s director has been regularly lecturing about the Anthropocene and its most notable symptom: global climate change. The first presentation was given in 2014, before the existence of the Museum. It was written and produced as a lecture-performance at the occasion of a theatre festival in Copenhagen: “The Human Myth”.

The invitation to give a TEDx talk in Como in November 2017 was the occasion to develop the concept for the Museum and think it through. The Museum’s first exhibit was set up shortly after that talk.

Talks about climate change turned into talks about the Museum, and talks became substituted by guided visits of entire groups to the Museum.

After the Next Generation Please! event in Brussels – BOZAR (24. March), where the director was once more invited as “the climatologist” (but also as a representative of the generation that ought to be scrapped ... ), he decided not give climate change talks anymore. More about this here. The climatologists, those who have unravelled how emissions of greenhouse gases are changing global climate in a dangerous direction, have done their job and done it well. Solving the problem is a task for different actors (including museum directors.) From now onwards, the director gives talks about the Museum and its various ramifications.
